Terms of hire

These terms apply to all equipment hire and services provided by REMO CONSULTING SERVICES (PTY) LTD, trading as Remo Events Hire.

1. Quotations and bookings

Quotations are valid for 14 days. A booking is confirmed only once the quotation is accepted in writing and the booking deposit is received.

2. Prices and payment

Prices are daily rental rates including VAT. Package prices exclude transport and a technician unless stated. A 50% deposit secures the booking; the balance is payable before the event date stated on the quotation.

3. Delivery, set-up and collection

Delivery, set-up and collection are charged according to distance and are shown on the quotation. The client must provide safe access, a dry and covered area for the equipment and suitable power points.

4. Dry hire and security deposit

Where equipment is collected by the client, a refundable security deposit and proof of identity may be required. The deposit is refunded after the equipment is returned complete and in good condition.

5. Care of equipment

The client is responsible for the equipment from delivery or collection until it is returned. Equipment must be protected from rain, liquids, theft and misuse, and may not be moved, opened or sub-hired without our consent.

6. Damage, loss and theft

Damage beyond fair wear and tear, loss or theft will be charged at repair or replacement cost.

7. Late returns

Equipment returned late is charged at the daily rate for each additional day.

8. Changes and cancellations

Changes are subject to availability. Cancellations made more than 14 days before the event: the deposit is refunded less an administration fee of [R___]. Cancellations within 14 days of the event: the deposit is forfeited. [Confirm or adjust these terms before publishing.]

9. Weather and safety

We may stop equipment operating in unsafe conditions, including rain on outdoor set-ups, to protect people and equipment.

10. Liability

Remo Events Hire is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from equipment failure, power interruptions or circumstances beyond our control. Our liability is limited to the value of the hire fee paid.
